After Weeding Out A Few

As we briefly mentioned before, don’t ever be afraid to ask whatever company or contractor that you want to hire for any form of paperwork in regards to insurance or liability. If they are not prepared to show you whatever you request immediately, then it is best to move on to the next choice.

Be Picky!

Something that we here at Chautauqua Real Estate have always told our clients is to never be afraid to be picky about who you hire! You are spending your hard earned money on something that you hope to eventually make you money someday (or at least break even!) and a lot of this will depend on who you hire to do the job.

chaut3Like we talked about before, we generally only work with and deal with homes that are on the more expensive end of the spectrum which requires us to only work with companies and contractors that have been around for years and have made a reputation for themselves.

Click here for an example of the kind of general & roofing contractors we are referring to. The license number is given right at the top and they don’t appear to have anything to hide. Everything seems to check out and if you are worried about anything, don’t hesitate to call the company directly and have them address any questions or concerns you may have.

Now click here for a short list of some of the things we advise any of our clients to look out for when they are searching for the perfect contractor. Although they listed no insurance and paperwork as #5, we tend to believe that this is one of the most important things you can do and feel that it should be more towards the top of the list.

How do you feel about the order of this list?
